  2. A few years back I stopped to see it, had breakfast across the way where I could see the park. A lot of people who looked my age stopped to see it....
My wife says the music is ageless and the park will still be there in 50 years... I wonder.

  4. Going to be there tomorrow, with my 12 yo son, so that in 50 years there are people to visit the park...

  5. My wife and I were there when they were re-working the streets with the brickwork 6 or 7 years ago. I had a contract I had finished out in California and I few my wife out and we did a Route 66 vacation from Barstow to Oklahoma with a couple of detours along the way.

  6. Damn, Tony, you should have kept going ;-). (My wife was born in Ada.) I have been through Winslow about a half-dozen times, but the last time was in 1980. I don't recall seeing the statue back then, but perhaps I just missed it. IIRC, that street was/is one-way, and I may have been on the next street over, going the other way. My grandfather, who lived in Phoenix was sick, and we were in a hurry to get down there to see him.

I didn't know about the statue.
We went to Walmart, and sent a message to our sons about standing......
