My state refuses to give temp handicap tags (esp. if you're the wrong demographic). I ended up in a chair for 6 months & couldn't get a tag. Doc told me I was going to spend another 6-12 months with a cane. Went into DMV and said if they didn't give me one I'd beat them with my crutch. They called to sheriff. After they told the deputy what I said, he took one look and said if they didn't fill out the paperwork immediately, he'd watch. Considering I had to resort to direct threats, I'm inclined to give this guy a pass until I know his municipality didn't screw him because they'll vindictive incompetents.
