How does something like that happen on a railroad where the underpass heights have been know since the line was built? That's one train dispatcher that'll be loosing his or her job shortly.
The company I worked for sold height detector systems for RR that they installed around ALL low bridges. I cannot imagine this bridge was not protected by a similar system.
