I remember waking up hung over on a Saturday morning to the sound of those plastic wheels on the concrete sidewalk just outside my apartment BR window. Not a pleasant sound.
My friend had one of these and I had a Crazy Car. Pretty challenging to describe. Easier to look up. Lots of fun. Could spin in circles forever. Probably explains a lot.
Those hard plastic wheels didn't stand up to asphalt like the commercials hoped for. Of course, a near 1mi long hill with minimal traffic didn't help. Dad eventually replaced the rear ones with bearings and small mower wheels. The front one, well, once it was done for it was not an easy replacement. You could get a bicycle rim/tire on it, but pedals at that point were gone. Braking as well. Fun in droves though.
Too old for those things but I had a Scion B with crazy wide Michelins that would do wicked things on dirt or snow with its hand brake. The little thing was pathetically underpowered but it drove like a go kart good times
