I have a friend who retired from working on rigs, I bet they were a little rougher in the 80's & 90's...

  2. I worked a production platform in 1969. Always felt as if you were going to die. There were 3 sections to a day, one for mosquitoes which covered you, then the flies that bit through clothing, finally the nats, they were the worse.

  4. Moden rigs use computers to move the drill pipe vs using chain back in the 90's.

  5. 16,000 dollars a month. Is that starting pay or the top of the pay scale? How many hours a day does that cover? How long do you work during the week for that pay?
