I was taught that steam expands to 16000 times is previous volume when released, kinda put the fear of God into me....and a deep respect of the machinery....
I did a start up on the replacement boiler after a "disassembly" the chief engineer told me that they found the ten pound safety valve a mile away in someone's backyard....
