Ah but without retribution this knowledge shifts from self flagellating stoicism to nothing more than coping mechanisms. The sad part is if you have any of these traits, you realize that most people will not back you not because they are envious etc.. but because they are ashamed that you stood when they could not. They will stay quiet, or even join the chorus, in shouting you down just to maintain their own self-delusion of righteousness.
