Bring it on stretch

John King, CNN: "You make your case there passionately for President Obama. But also understand that this is a tough reelection climate for any president, Democrat or Republican in this economy. Because of your history with Speaker Gingrich, what goes through your mind when you think of the possibility, which is more real today than it was a week or a month ago, that he would be the Republican nominee and that you could come back here next January or next February with a President Gingrich?"

Rep. Nancy Pelosi: "Let me just say this. That will never happen."

King: "Why?"

Pelosi: "He's not going to be President of the United States. That's not going to happen. Let me just make my prediction and stand by it, it isn't going to happen."

King: "Why are you so sure?"

Pelosi: "There is something I know. The Republicans, if they choose to nominate him that's their prerogative. I don't even think that's going to happen."

Pelosi Backtracks On Claim She “Knows Something” About Gingrich…

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s office shot back Wednesday after Newt Gingrich told her to just release whatever ethics report she had been hinting at releasing.
A day earlier Pelosi (D-Calif.) reiterated a previous indication that she had dirt on Gingrich from his days when he was under a House ethics investigation while Speaker of the House.
“There’s something I know,” Pelosi said on CNN.
In response, Gingrich said that Pelosi should just release whatever she was referring to.
“If she knows something, I have a simple challenge: Spit it out,” Gingrich said Wednesday on NBC’s “Today” show.
Later the same day, Pelosi’s office said that Pelosi was referring to the likelihood that Gingrich would win the Republican presidential nomination and beat President Obama in the 2012 general election, as well as the entire Ethics Committee’s findings on Gingrich.
“The ‘something’ Leader Pelosi knows is that Newt Gingrich will not be President of the United States. She made that clear last night,” Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said in a statement. “Leader Pelosi previously made a reference to the extensive amount of information that is in the public record, including the comprehensive committee report with which the public may not be fully aware.”
