Our last 2 German Shepherds were like that when someone would get too close to my wife. They never bit anyone but the message was clear. The 3 year old we have now just loves everyone, as we trained him to be. Retired life can be fun. Jeff C in NC (BMCS)
They have to be trained to be effective at protection and you have to assume the legal liability for when they do what they are trained to do.
