Never ever buy into an HOA. Ego maniac big fish in a really small pond usually run the show. Groupthink rules no matter how illogical it may seem. And then there is the $$$.
I've watched my best friend live in an HOA controlled subdivision TWICE. Now I just laugh really loud when he starts bellyaching about their bullshit antics. Same with my brother in law and his wife... I'd burn a house down before I let myself be subjected to a bunch of Karen's on a power trip.
