Closing thought...

  1. My only problem is not that they turned her down but they didn't openly tell her why. I know it's corporate weaseling but that in and of itself is part of the problem.

    1. Telling them its the tats will open the store to a discrimination lawsuit. You legally can not discriminate against someone for a whole host of reasons including mental insanity. If someone applies to work in a dynamite factory but tells you they are a pyromaniac, you cant reject them for it. The only eligible grounds for refusing to hire someone is better qualified candidates; any other statement opens you to legal action .

  3. Amen. Quick story. My son worked his way through college. Worked nights. School during the day. Five and a half years. Got a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Math. Had several piercings in his ears. First five interviews: you don’t fit with what we are looking for. Thing is, it is against the law not to hire based on looks. I said next interview try removing the ear piercings. He got hired on the spot. Companies don’t want to be represented by something that looks like a freak. What you see on the outside reflects something going on in the inside
