About a month ago or so, in honor of their 45th birthday, they ran about 10 "shows" called "The Birth of MTV." They were spread across their 4 or so channels and they showed a whole bunch of videos that, despite being an avid watcher from about 83 onward for the next 7 years or so....I NEVER SAW. Some great stuff...and of course some real crap. Clearly in the very earliest days, if you had created a video, they were happy to air it, and some bands that sucked, had way too many videos that got shown. Not sure if any of the "sets" are available on YouTube or similar, but worth the watch if you were a fan of the earliest 80s music.
