I grew up across from Detroit on the Canadian side of the river. Windsor was the Canadian equivalent of Detroit---Canada's Motor City. Every time I go back to visit the folks...all I can think of is that saying about killing the goose that laid the golden eggs. As a kid growing up in the 70s, in a class of 30 kids, 25 kids had fathers who worked for one of the Big Three or one of the factories that supplied the Big Three...now you'd be lucky to find five kids in a class whose fathers work for the Big Three.
