House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi – a well-known sports fan – had a quick response to the New York Times report of a GOP super PAC’s plans to tie President Barack Obama to the controversial Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.
According to the Times, the campaign would be backed by conservative billionaire Joe Ricketts, whose family owns the Chicago Cubs.
That prompted Pelosi’s zinger.
“Well, I hope they’re as successful with this campaign as the Cubs are on the baseball field,” she told reporters at the Capitol Thursday. “They ain’t got no chance of going to any World Series.”
