Doing a quick search gives about half a dozen "locations" for this. Ranging from South Africa to Daytona. Those are all Instagram / TicTok / Farcebook posts, though. Snopes says it is AI, and thus fake. I wouldn't trust Snopes any more than I would trust a Clinton.
This is what Gulag has to say about it: " It is located in Connah's Quay, Wales. originally built as a promotional and training site. The structure closed in 2021 following financial difficulties and has remained abandoned since. It has become a popular location for photographers due to its unique architectural design. Another similar abandoned bucket-shaped KFC existed near Dayton, Ohio. "
Personally, from the three high res images I have looked at, I'm going to say it is a fake.
Too many inconsistencies in textures and overall physical condition; inside and out. That is a lot of deterioration for only being unoccupied for five years. Then you have the picture of the "stock room" with cooking supplies and containers on the shelves. Lots of boxes that have one thing readable, yet the line under it is blurry. Too many different fonts, as well. Abandoned or not, a major corporation is not going to leave copyrighted and or trademarked items, let alone components to make their product. It all would have gone into a dumpster before they let anyone else have it for free. I've seen it dozens of times. Also - Gulag says that it is a popular location for photographers, yet there are no images of people in front of or inside the building. Why is that? Of all the narsasistic selfie loving douche bags out there, not one has posted a picture of themselves in front of it? I can hardly believe that. I think that there is so much fake posts about this that Gulag has averaged them up with the algorithm and told itself that this place exists.
But what the hell do I know? I could be wrong. I am married......
