If you're seriously interested in one, consider the Belgian Tervuren - it's the long haired version of the Maligator that's just a bit more chill. Bred for sheep herding as opposed to military endeavors, it's slightly less aggressive but still requires you to assert alpha dominance to keep it in line. Mine recently passed and I'm still not over it. I couldn't imagine a more intelligent nor loyal friend, let alone dog...
Friend of mine had one. One of the goofy things that dog would do is attack the TV when a liberty mutual commercial came on, (he hates them as much as we do) - holding a tennis ball and barking at the same time. Thankfully he had sturdy TV mount !
My parents had a pair of them. They would run down a coyote if you let them.

I always found them a little to manic and needy for my taste. I prefer Eastern shepards. Just as smart & capable but way more chill.
